Registration takes place on the official Global Dance Open platform. Here we show you the way, step by step.
Registration does not go through this website but through the official Global Dance Open platform. It is called DanceComp Genie and is in English.
Dance studios register their dancers. Independent Dancers can also register themselves.
An email address you check regularly. The official first and last name and the date of birth of every dancer. The entry type, style and title of each choreography. The music as a file.
Names and dates of birth must be correct. Incorrect details can lead to disqualification.

The button names appear here exactly as you see them on the platform.
Click "Go to Registration". The Global Dance Open registration page opens in a new tab. If you already have an account, log in at the top and continue with step 3. New here? Then enter your email address at the bottom under "Add new account" and click "Add".
Fill in all fields marked with a red asterisk: email, User ID, password, security question and the details of your dance studio. Under "Country", choose Switzerland. You cannot change the User ID later. Accept the terms of use and confirm with "Confirm and Create My DanceComp Genie Passport Account".
Go back to the Global Dance Open registration page and log in with the same credentials. Here you see your account. With "Add New Registration" you start your registration. Under "Select an Event", choose the Swiss qualifier.
Enter your routine (choreography) and give it a routine title. This is, for example, the theme, the song title or a made-up choreography title. Please do NOT enter the group name, the names of the dancers or the name of the dance studio here. Don't know the title yet? Then enter a working title. You can change it yourself until the registration deadline. If we change it for you after the registration deadline, we charge it as administrative work.
Enter all dancers with last name, first name, date of birth and gender. To add many at once, use "Import Multiple Dancers" with a CSV file. Then select everyone who dances in this routine (choreography) and add them with "Add>>". Continue with "Done".
Choose the entry type, for example Solo or Duo/Trio, and click "Add New". Fill in the details of the choreography and save with "Save". Do this for each choreography. Don't know the length of your choreography yet? No problem. Enter the maximum allowed length. The length is adjusted automatically when you upload your music later. Under "View Summary" you see the costs, and "Continue" takes you further.
Check the summary, tick "I agree" and complete the registration. After that, you have 48 hours to pay the entry fees. Please pay to the specified account of GDO Switzerland, based in Solothurn, NOT to GDO International in England or Belgium. Your registration is only final once the money has arrived. If the payment does not arrive within 48 hours, your registration expires and the spots are released again.
Upload the music for each choreography on the platform. Music sent by email is not accepted. Stick to the time limits, the system does not accept longer music. Is your music not ready yet when you register? No problem. Upload it to your account by the Music Deadline, this is still possible after the registration deadline. The dates are above under Good to Know. At the event, also bring all tracks on a USB stick.
Under "View Entries" you see your registrations. Add a forgotten choreography with "Add New Registration". Make all changes by the Changes Deadline, the dates are above under Good to Know. After that you can no longer change anything, you can only still upload the music. If the status says "Done", you can no longer change anything yourself. In that case, write to us.

All dancers need an annual membership of €12. It is not refunded.
Payments after the registration deadline cost a 10% surcharge, again every week. If payment has not been made after three weeks, the registration is cancelled.
If you cancel, you get no money back. In case of injury, Global Dance Open can issue a credit if the medical certificate is received before the event.
Anyone on stage must be registered. Each unregistered dancer costs a €50 fine plus the missing registration.
